OUTREACH- [out-r ch ]- n / v -to reach farther (than); extend, go beyond a limit. Teaching, sharing resources, and research; the act of reaching out in an effort to build connections; the extension of assistance, information or services beyond conventional limits to a particular segment of a community. The JDRF Outreach Program is dedicated to going beyond all limits so that every member of the Type 1 community has the education, resources, and assistance needed to succeed and live a long and fulfilled life. Outreach brings together people who share our vision for a CURE and who will actively work with us to achieve this goal.

More than 30 new families are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in this region monthly, and the JDRF Outreach Committee’s goal is to lend support to all of these families. If you would like to be involved in any of the outreach areas listed below, please e-mail houstonoutreach@jdrf.org orcall 713-334-4400.
