Teaching, sharing resources, and research; the act of reaching out in an effort to build connections; the extension of assistance, information or services beyond conventional limits to a particular segment of a community.The JDRF Outreach Program is dedicated to going beyond all limits so that every member of the Type 1 community has the education, resources, and assistance needed to succeed and live a long and fulfilled life. Outreach brings together people who share our vision for a CURE and who will actively work with us to achieve this goal.

More than 30 new families are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in this region monthly, and the JDRF Outreach Committee’s goal is to lend support to all of these families. Type One Connect is an educational and networking day for people living with type 1 diabetes and their families. Individuals with type 1 diabetes, anyone involved in the care of someone with diabetes and medical professionals are welcome to attend.
